Linking together industry data strategies
Mapping exercise gave a clearer view of the opportunities for collaboration.
The importance of developing and implementing a sound strategy for the management and exploitation of rail data is widely recognised. It lies at the core of government and industry objectives related to making data ‘open by default’.
DI SIC recognised that many of the published or in-development data strategies have similar or overlapping themes. We carried out a short piece of work to map the links in an easy-to-view manner. We included published strategies from the Department for Transport and the Rail Technical Strategy and draft material from Great British Railways Transition Team.
This mapping will be updated as the strategic landscape evolves.
