The Sustainable Rail Blueprint is set to help rail get greener, supporting the UK government’s plans to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
In this video, George Davies captures what rail leaders need to know about this comprehensive environmental plan, which will be launched on 14 November 2023, including:
the financial commitment from the DfT, who called for a blueprint in their paper on reforming the railways
what RSSB is doing to ensure affordable and appropriate action is implemented throughout the industry
the sustainability work that’s currently under way at RSSB, including the tools that are being enhanced to help rail companies cut their carbon emissions
the support that’s available from RSSB.
The Sustainable Rail Blueprint has aligned the industry, providing tactical and operational direction that our train operating companies can implement to realise environmental and social benefits across the 11 topic areas identified. It will enable us to improve the customer experience while meeting the challenges of climate change and supporting our neighbouring communities.
