The Fatigue Coordination Group (FCG) supports the industry in devising and sharing world-class approaches to managing fatigue. It aims to improve employee health and wellbeing and make fatigue-related incidents a thing of the past.
FCG leads the fatigue and alertness agenda for the industry and its workforce. The group ensures efficient use of resources and expertise by avoiding duplication of effort and drives the uptake of best practices across the railway to deliver real value.
Three sector specific groups support FCG:
a train operators group
a freight operators group
an infrastructure group.

The Infrastructure Safety Leadership Group, (ISLG), is the leading GB rail industry forum for infrastructure contractors and designers. It was created to influence the application of existing health, safety, wellbeing, and sustainability legislation, and to proactively drive best practice in a collaborative, collective manner to ensure that health, safety, wellbeing, and sustainability performance improve across the industry in a sustained way.

The ISLG brings together health and safety leaders from the principal contractor community, mainly, and is open to membership from principal designers. The ISLG Network is a collaboration of various independent industry groups including The Rail Industry Sustainability Forum, the Rail Plant Association, the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Group, the Network Rail Health and Safety Collaboration Group and the Rail Industry Contractors Association. We capitalise on the synergies that exist, promote future plans and highlight the work that has already been done for the good of the industry.

The Road Risk Group, (RRG), supports the railway in reducing road risk exposure across the industry and fosters collaboration between key stakeholders to develop and embed road risk management tools and create opportunities to improve reporting and analysis, working in partnership with National Highways' Driving for Better Business team.
As a significant part of the transport industry within the UK,the rail industry has a part to play in supporting this strategyto improve road safety. It is my vision that the Road Risk Group will review and aid inthe prioritising of key improvement measures across theindustry in support of the key aim of no road injuries ordeaths associated with its activities.

The Depot Working Group (DWG), brings together key stakeholders from across the industry to improve safety within maintenance depots. While depots have a strong safety record, incidents do still occur.
The DWG enables strong collaboration between TOCs, FOCs, Maintenance suppliers and NR to continually improve depot safety performance and share best practice across the industry.
The Depot Working Group aims to improve safety and welfare for colleagues and visitors to depot facilities across the industry. It is open to all those actively involved in improving depot safety and welfare and is supported by RSSB, reporting into the Safety Systems and Risk group. It aims to achieve this through a combination of analysis, collaboration, industry benchmarking and promotion of significant projects and schemes. The group owns the ‘Depot Good Practice Guide’ and inputs into depot related standards. It is also focussed the contribution and impact of safety culture.
