A combination of risk groups covered in this document support the delivery of projects on the Common Solutions road map. Task-and-finish groups, including decision makers and subject matter experts also contribute. Also involved:
Human Factors Strategy Group
SMIS (Safe Insights) Advisory Group
Rail Investigation Group
This group provides strategic direction on human factors. It supports and drives the delivery of key strategic human factors capability improvements for the GB main line rail industry. Its scope covers human factors aspects of the railway from design and manufacture through to operation and maintenance.

This group advises RSSB on the industry’s safety event reporting system and its future development. It works with RSSB to ensure that SMIS (Safe Insights) serves as the GB rail solution for collecting and accessing high‐quality, structured, cross‐industry safety event data. The group plays a key role in promoting the SMIS (Safe Insights) as an essential source of trusted information that supports industry risk management.
