Our quarterly standards update webinars have proved very successful and the number of regular viewers continues to increase. This has provided us with a very powerful and effective platform for engaging with our audience. It gives standards users an opportunity to ask questions and get real time responses, both from technical experts within RSSB and key users across industry who were involved in the drafting process.
We also now embed relevant extracts of the webinars within the standards catalogue, making it easier for users to access high quality information when applying standards.
In addition to the familiar standards catalogue, users can find summaries of all standards issued in the latest catalogue and any point releases issued in the last three months, simply presented under one of the six standards topic areas on the ‘latest updates to standards page’ on our website.
Also available on that page is the Interactive Standards update briefing PowerPoint® slide deck. This non-linear presentation provides users with a ready-made briefing pack containing more detailed information on any changes made to standards, hyperlinks to updated content on the website and an overview of standards currently being drafted that will be ready for consultation or publishing in the next six months.
All new or updated standards are published with a single page briefing note, providing an overview of the contents in the standard, details of any changes made, as well as a summary of the quantified benefits the standard will make to industry. These simple documents provide an excellent executive summary to each standard.
On request, RSSB continues to provide tailored briefings to members on the standards framework, explaining the role of standards, how to get the best out of them and detail around specific standards. This helps to increase members’ understanding, ensuring that they get the most out of RSSB standards and the supporting content on the website.
