RSSB-facilitated groups and committees
The Industry Standards Coordination Committee (ISCC) is the senior stakeholder group dealing with matters related to standards for the GB mainline railway. It oversees the work of the standards committees and provides direction, advice, and guidance on:
the management and effectiveness of standards, including National Technical Specification Notices
the impact of legislative changes on standards
the appropriate use of railway standards as a means of improving efficiency.
Additionally, ISCC provides advice to the DfT and the ORR regarding the role of requirements as national rules, and their implications for the management of the GB mainline railway. ISCC reports to the RSSB Board through the Director of Standards.
The Railway Standards Code and Standards Manual govern ISCC's activities. Seven standards committees decide the content of standards and deviations under the direction of ISCC, see Figure 1.
Membership of standards committees and ISCC is by election under arrangements set out in the Code and Manual. Membership details of all the committees are available on RSSB's website.
